Buying LS658 Pneumatic Forklift Tires Check the Quoted Size

A quotation that says “LS658, 900 kPa” may look specific. It is not. On LANDER’s LS658 page, 900 kPa appears beside both 5.00-8 and 300-15. The first has a 3.50D standard rim and a listed 1,295 kg load. The second shows an 8.00 rim and 6,825 kg. Those details would send a buyer toward different tires even though the pressure matches.

The order therefore needs a size and an identified forklift, not merely a tire family. LANDER publishes the tire data. The wheel fitted to the truck, its load and the truck maker’s guidance supply the other half of the decision. The LANDER homepage is the broad company entry, while About LANDER gives the company background behind the product categories.

Find out what is being replaced

A photograph of the old sidewall marking is more useful than a handwritten size copied from an old spreadsheet. Photograph the rim identification if it can be seen. Record the truck model and whether this is a front or rear wheel; the supplier cannot infer either from the word “forklift.”

If the marking is gone, do not borrow a size from a similar-looking truck. State that the existing marking is unreadable and have the wheel and approved fitment identified. A move from solid to pneumatic construction calls for a fresh fitment check. On its LS659 solid tire page, LANDER highlights puncture avoidance; the LS658 page discusses cushioning and traction on variable ground. The truck maker’s wheel guidance still has to settle whether the change is possible.

Give the supplier the working conditions in ordinary terms. “Outdoor yard” could mean smooth paving or a route littered with sharp scrap and broken joints. Tell the supplier about the surface and the loaded route. LANDER lists LS658 for outdoor yards, loading areas and mixed industrial work; the machine’s actual assignment is more specific than any of those labels.

Read the complete size row

The LS658 specification page lists a standard rim, dimensions, load and pressure for each size. These three published rows show why copying one field in isolation is risky:

Size PR Diameter Width Standard rim Listed load Listed pressure
5.00-8 10 470 mm 137 mm 3.50D 1,295 kg 900 kPa
7.00-12 14 683 mm 192 mm 5.00S 2,670 kg 1,000 kPa
300-15 20 840 mm 300 mm 8.00 6,825 kg 900 kPa

The 7.00-12 listing is 1,000 kPa, so the family has no single pressure setting. The two 900 kPa entries still differ sharply in rim and load. Read the rim, size and dimensions with the pressure, then check the exact offered tire against current equipment guidance.

Do not compare the load column with the forklift’s lifting-capacity plate. The load relevant to a tire is the load at its wheel or axle in the intended configuration. When that number is missing, write “wheel/axle load pending” and ask for a fitment review. Leaving the cell open is safer than copying the lifting-plate number. Keep PR with the row; it does not clear a wheel position by itself.

Put a proposed change in writing

If the old sidewall says one size and the reply names another, print both markings. The offered rim, dimensions, PR, load and pressure should sit beside the original request, with each change visible. That gives the truck’s fitment approver a concrete question. Price alone will not tell the buyer whether the proposed tire clears the machine or suits its wheel.

For the RFQ, place the old sidewall and rim photographs beside the truck model, wheel position and quantity. Add the route description and any verified wheel or axle load. If the load is unknown, say so instead of copying the lifting-capacity plate. Delivery and document requirements can follow. Ask for the exact offered LS658 size and current data. LANDER’s forklift range and product listing help with browsing; the LS658 page holds the size details used here. For company questions or a quotation request, use Contact LANDER.

File the approved size with the purchase order. Receiving can then check the delivered sidewall marking before fitting, against the same size the fitment reviewer approved.

Before anyone compares totals, read the offer once as a fitment record. Check the offered marking against the request, the rim against the wheel record, and the listed load and pressure against the same size row. Then set the machine’s confirmed wheel or axle load beside the work described in the RFQ. An unresolved answer belongs in the open-items note and should go back to the person responsible for the forklift. That keeps a missing measurement visible instead of allowing a familiar model name or a shared pressure figure to decide the purchase.

The three rows also show how quickly a size difference becomes a machine difference. The table lists 6,825 kg for 300-15, a little more than five times the 1,295 kg shown for 5.00-8. Its outside diameter is 840 mm rather than 470 mm, and its width is 300 mm rather than 137 mm. Those comparisons do not approve either tire for a truck. They do show why the shared LS658 name or shared 900 kPa figure cannot justify moving from one marking to the other. The standard rim changes from 3.50D to 8.00 as well. A supplier who sees the old marking and wheel record can explain the proposed row; a supplier who sees only the model name has to ask for those details.

The same table helps when a requested size is unavailable. The buyer can place the old row and the offered row side by side and identify the changed field. If the offered diameter, width or rim is different, the fitment question should be answered before the price is approved. A note saying “alternative accepted” does not preserve the reason for the decision. The approval record should retain the offered marking and the row values that were reviewed.

At receiving, compare the delivered sidewall with that approved line. A mismatch may be a picking error, but it should be resolved against the quotation before the tire reaches the wheel. That is the point at which the catalog data, the forklift record and the purchase order meet.

Conclusion

A tire model name is useful for finding a catalog page. For an LS658 order, the decisive record is the exact size row matched to a particular forklift and wheel, with any substitution assessed before the order goes out.

Buyer FAQ

Does LS658 have one pressure? No. The official table lists 900 kPa for 5.00-8 and 300-15, but 1,000 kPa for 7.00-12. Pressure must stay with the exact size row.

Is listed load the forklift lifting capacity? No. The catalog load belongs to the tire row. The machine review concerns the load at the relevant wheel or axle in the planned configuration.

What should accompany an RFQ? Send the forklift model and wheel position, sidewall and rim photographs, quantity, route description and any known wheel or axle load. Keep the exact LS658 size row in the request.

What about a substitute size? Keep the requested and offered markings together. Record the offered rim, dimensions, PR, load and pressure, then obtain the fitment decision before approval.
